Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Remote first with central London offices

Reports To: Technical Architect/Lead Engineer

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Software Engineer who shares our passion for innovation in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain existing software products

    • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Go and JavaScript.
    • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
    • Collaborate with machine learning engineers, front-end developers, and clinical end-users to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

  • Database Management

    • Design, implement, and maintain relational database schemas.
    • Write efficient SQL queries and perform database optimizations.
    • Ensure data integrity and security.

  • Code Quality and Best Practices

    • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
    • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
    • Follow industry best practices and company standards for software development.

  • Collaboration and Communication

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and QA.
    • Contribute to project planning and estimation.

  • Troubleshooting and Support

    • Identify and resolve software defects and performance issues.
    • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing applications.
    • Monitor application performance and implement improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience

    • 3-5 years of professional experience in software development.

  • Technical Skills

    • Understanding of Go and JavaScript.
    • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
    • Solid understanding of web application development and maintenance.
    • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks).

  • Soft Skills

    • Professional integrity, thoroughness, and pragmatism
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
  • Experience with Linux-based operating systems.
  • Familiarity with system containers.
  • Experience with version control systems.
